Naswa Resort

My parents Richard and Peggy Monahan found the Lakes Region and the Naswa Resort in Laconia quite by accident when looking for a place to stay for a New Hampshire vacation. We never stopped going back and had many fond memories of Lake Winnipesaukee and the Naswa Resort. Once we tried to spend the week at Hampton Beach and it was never the same.
My parents always wanted to retire in the lakes region but my mother died in 1985 of ovarian cancer and my father passed on in 2005. I am writing a travel guide that is dedicated to them, hopefully to be published soon.
My fondest memories are cleaning the cottage of all the cereal and bread to feed to the ducks, hitting Weirs Beach, and renting boats for our week of glory.
My favorite eats would have to be Hart's Turkey Farm, Naswa Resort Restaurant and Beach Bar, and Tamarack. My son graduated from college in Plymouth and we went to Hart's afterwards.
I ended up moving to New Hampshire after I was married and brought my children to the Lakes Region. I currently live back in Western, Massachusetts. My children both live in New Hampshire near Laconia. I would move to the Lakes Region in a heart beat.
